Hidden cinema

Now you see it – Now you don’t!

A living room, family room or indeed any room can potentially hide a simple TV or even a high end cinema within.  In today’s market there are a good range of options available with more imaginative technology and systems arriving to the market all the time.

> Lift mechanisms

Various TV, projector and screen lifts that can be fitted in to custom cabinetry, floors, walls and ceilings.  All of which can turn on, open up, lift, drop, rotate and anything else required revealing your hidden cinema at a touch of a button.

> Drop Down projection Screens.

These can be hidden in ceiling voids, cabinetry or in customised casing to fit in with surroundings.  They are a popular choice for those wanting to convert an everyday family room into a serious cinema environment when it suits. Projectors can also be housed in motorised ceiling lifts or even coffee tables, side boards etc, again only revealed when required.

> Works of art

Artcoustic manufacture superb high quality speakers which look like pictures on the wall,  They come in a variety of sizes and have a huge range of prints finishes to choose from or can also have custom prints fitted.

Some of the other products available are from Artscreen where fine art and state-of-the art technology have come together to offer a beautiful alternative for those who want the clarity and visual impact of large-screen television without the intrusion of high-tech equipment in an otherwise stylish room.  With the touch of a button, ArtScreen transforms your plasma television or high-tech video display into a breathtaking work of art that enhances any room decor. Inside a frame of your choice, an ultra-quiet motor raises the artwork to fully reveal the viewing screen.  When turned off, your television disappears as the ArtScreen is lowered into the picture frame.

A Picture Splitter is a simple way of hiding a plasma or LCD. The light canvas frames or full-framed pictures hang over the plasma until the remote is pressed. The pictures move apart out of the way revealing the plasma. The mechanism its self remains concealed in both positions.

Mirror TV systems from Tri Custom, Media Decor and Ad Notam provide custom mirrors and surrounds that hide a TV behind and reveal it at a touch of a button.

> Invisible Speakers

Amina® In-Wall/Ceiling Loudspeakers are the world’s first high-performance totally hidden loudspeakers. Designed to be skimmed over with plaster they provide a totally concealed audio solution that allows complete interior design flexibility without the visible presence of speakers.

Whether the room is square, rectangular, or even curved,
Amina speakers are a perfect fit every time! And once plastered in, they become completely sealed and protected, and offer an unparalleled invisible audio solution.

This makes the Amina speakers an ideal invisible audio solution for interiors that don’t suit the commonly used in ceiling/wall speakers with there exposed grills or for wet areas such as pools and bathrooms.   They are also great for clean rooms where walls and ceilings need to be regularly washed or wiped down.

Solid Drive Technology - A revelation for interior design

Induction Dynamics SolidDrive is a powerful hidden sound transducer that transmits acoustical energy through almost any solid surface. The entire surface becomes a speaker delivering high-quality sound and the frequency response of conventional diaphragm speakers. SolidDrive provides a distinct advance for audio systems used in home theater systems, distributed audio, and other high-performance audio applications. SolidDrive works with rigid surfaces that include glass, drywall, granite, metal, wood, ceramics, laminates and composites. Because the SolidDrive utilizes materials already existing in a room, it's ideal for installed home audio, commercial audio, or a home theater sound system anywhere an invisible sound source is needed.
